Reiki Workshop #2: Starting a Reiki Practice

Attend in person for $35 or online using Zoom for $25. When you register for the Zoom meeting you will receive instructions for attending the webinar. Zoom is free to use and available for download to PCs, Android and iPad devices. Look for it in the App store.

Class Description:

Reiki is inexpensive to get started and can be started on the side while your day job continues to provide the income you need. In this class there will be plenty of question and answer time.

What we will cover:

• Getting started: basic equipment, developing your business model etc.

• Making the decision to rent an office or create a home-based business

• Deciding what to charge

• Getting the word out: social media, advertising, marketing

• How to run your business: keeping client records, keeping tax records

• Building your experience and client case histories

• What can Reiki heal? - What types of clients can you expect/attract?

• The joy of following your passion and helping people

• The legalities of being in a non-licensed business: Colorado State do’s and dont’s, liability insurance, health insurance, registering your business etc.

What we will not cover:

• Detailed tax questions — this is not a course in doing your taxes. We will scratch the surface of taxes and request that all detailed questions be directed to a qualified tax accountant

• Detailed legal questions — We will provide an overview of the law to alert you to certain issues you should be aware of, such as the fact that there are certain words you can and cannot use when talking to your clients. Beyond a high level overview of legal issues with regard to non-licensed alternative health providers, we will provide pointers to where you can look up the statutes and make your own mind up or consult a lawyer for all legal issues.
